Meditation on the office's future We were asked to meditate about the future of the office and try to sketch out some answers. Faced with this rather simple question, we must say that the first reaction we had was Difficulty in answering it. We have read some of the theories of established brands and it seemed to us that the attempt, if not of all, of many is to theorize some superstructure that is able to make new sense in the new organization of the office. The need to return to the world of the office after the heavy Covid interlude, bringing with us the comfort and warmth that only home can give, almost as if we were snails carrying their shells with us. the need to rediscover dialogue and work based on sharing, of areas designed for socializing, almost bringing the concept of the square to the office. The interconnection of the various areas of expertise. Certainly these are features that we glimpse but at the same time, we believe that work, the real work will continue to be done in desks, at least as long as there is a need for the human being, and therefore desks , containers, meeting rooms and executive offices, alongside the new development lounge areas. We can then find a way to revise these subjects, for example by introducing wood, as a natural, recyclable material with high visual and tactile comfort, eliminating unnecessary hardware, and starting to treat desks more like home tables than technological devices. But despite everything, in general, we read a myriad of objects, each with its own function, that seemingly have nothing in common but being extremely connoted and independent that can coexist in a common landscape. this for us is Controlled Chaos; a place where design and functional independence reigns with the common focus to treat forms and materials in such a way that they transmit a more intimate and warm vibrational frequency capable of making peoples “coexist” in the best possible way with their daily work routine and especially with o neighbors. On this aspect, we believe it is essential to pay attention to not only visual and tactile comfort, but also acoustic comfort, and therefore provide solutions that can solve these issues with flexible products that can be adapted to different needs. If this were true, it would be a return to design and abandonment of “stlying.”
