KbM recently partnered with Koleksiyon , the renowned office and home furniture manufacturer, to redesign Clyde & Co's expansive 24,000 sq. ft. office space in Dubai. Spanning four floors, the project is a testament to KbM and Koleksiyon’s commitment to harmonizing functionality and aesthetics. With a carefully curated collection, the new space embodies Clyde & Co’s distinct brand identity and supports their vision of a modern, future-ready workplace.
Insights from the Project Leaders
To get a closer look at the concept and design process, CID spoke with Koray Malhan, Koleksiyon’s Chief Design Officer; Gemma Hughes, Head of KbM; and Debbie Bennett, Clyde & Co's Head of Real Estate Management (Global). Each shared their unique perspectives on how this collaboration translated Clyde & Co's goals into a cohesive workspace design.
Koray Malhan explained, “This project exemplifies our ‘Open Work’ philosophy, a modern theory that emphasizes creativity and flexibility in workspace design. By incorporating multiple functional zones rather than adhering to a rigid workstation structure, we’ve created an adaptable environment that can evolve with the needs of Clyde & Co's teams.”

Defining the Workspace for the Future
For Clyde & Co, the redesign was about more than just aesthetics. “This journey began nearly a year before the project handover,” says Debbie Bennett. “We worked closely with Milo, KbM, and Koleksiyon to shape our vision for a workspace that reflects our redefined brand identity—light, inviting, and functional.” The revamped office features biophilic elements, warm finishes, enhanced lighting, and collaborative spaces to create a welcoming atmosphere prioritizing staff well-being and comfort.
Blending Form and Function
The collaboration’s focus on functionality and aesthetics was central to the furniture selection. Malhan describes how Koleksiyon chose sustainable materials for a tactile and visually pleasing environment, using FSC-certified wood and water-based finishes for durability and eco-friendliness. “Each material source was carefully considered,” Malhan adds. “We wanted natural wool and cotton fabrics and wood products sourced from certified agricultural forests to ensure sustainable quality.”
Crafting a Space with Clyde & Co’s Culture in Mind
Furniture played a crucial role in achieving Clyde & Co’s desired functionality. “The new furniture had to meet specific criteria—user-friendly, multi-functional, and reflective of modern ergonomic and sustainability standards,” Bennett explains. Each piece was thoughtfully selected and customized to blend with the space’s existing structure while meeting the firm’s evolving needs.
