Andreas Krob was born in 1969 in Niebüll, Schleswig-Holstein. He studied industrial design at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel. Following a semester in Italy, he began to work as a freelance designer before assuming a variety of positions with internationally active companies in their research and development divisions. In 2002, Krob relocated to Switzerland. In 2003 he established b4K Bureau4Dimensions Krob with his wife Uta.

The b4K company unifies the proficiencies of an architect and those of an industrial designer to provide sensitive design solutions to challenging and innovative undertakings in the areas of design and architecture. b4K works for leading companies throughout Europe in the area of high-quality contract furniture.

A fundamental aspect of b4K’s work is that it goes well beyond simply creating a piece of furniture. The company pays particular attention to the way the item functions in a space as well as ensuring that its development and finished appearance is of a superior quality.
