Koleksiyon’s story begins in 1972, when architect Faruk Malhan set up a small metal workshop in Ankara. Merging form, function and aesthetics with intuitive design, the brand soon evolved to become a leader in the service of design.

50 years later, the Koleksiyon name has become synonymous with pioneering design, driven by a passion for creativity, innovation, and a deep know-how derived from the brand’s uncompromising quest for attention to detail. Working alongside fellow designers, architects, academics and social scientists from around the world Koleksiyon seeks to construct a nuanced design language that addresses the challenges faced by contemporary society head-on.

The Koleksiyon Story

Throughout the 1980s, Koleksiyon’s presence grew, with stores in Ankara and Istanbul becoming hubs of creativity and innovation. Concepts like user-friendliness, comfort, and authenticity took centre stage, reflecting a deeper understanding of evolving design preferences.

The dawn of the 21st century ushered in a new era for Koleksiyon, marked by greater investments in technology and a shift towards modern design concepts. The brand’s focus on imagination, new standards, and contemporary thinking gave rise to innovative and intuitive, high quality furnishings that transcended traditional boundaries. As Koleksiyon expanded its product collections, it also embraced the changing dynamics of workspaces. The launch of Koleksiyon Contract, Office and Koleksiyon Home reflected anuanced understanding of the modern working culture and its impact on design.

International recognition followed suit, with flagship stores in London and New York solidifying Koleksiyon’s status as a design-oriented brand on a global scale. Participating in prestigious events like Orgatec and NeoCon® further cemented the brand’s presence and influence in the design community. Koleksiyon’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship also earned accolades, including the prestigious “Environment Certificate” from the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Forestry and “Green Star Certificate” from TÜV Austria.

Fast forward to 2022, and Koleksiyon celebrated a monumental milestone 50 years of shaping contemporary gatherings. This landmark year also marked Koleksiyon’s transition from a family business to a large corporation, as the company successfully went public after a notable launch programme on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. This transformation underscores Koleksiyon’s commitment to growth, sustainability, and ongoing excellence in the design industry.
